Individuals

A ticket for the Colosseum/Palatine Hill & Roman Forum, including ongoing exhibitions, is valid for 1 entrance to the Colosseum (at the specific reservation time) and 1 entrance to the Palatine Hill/Roman Forum. Standard ticket validity is 24hrs and Full Experience validity is 2 consecutive days, this refers to the Palatine Hill/Roman Forum entrance. All tickets are bound to a precise entrance time that must be respected by the visitor and pre-sale tickets must be paid in full at the time of purchase.

Groups

A ‘group’ entering the Colosseum is considered any party of 14 or more participants (up to a maximum 50 participants), including those who are eligible for free or reduced tickets. All groups of 14 or more must have a reservation in order to enter the monument. Standard tickets, when purchased online, can be ‘printed at home’ and all of the necessary information – ticket type, entrance time, date and scanning barcode – will be on the printout. If anyone in your party is entitled to a reduced or free ticket, you must present the corresponding identification at the reservation kiosk and the tickets will be printed for you. Please note that ‘free’ tickets include a reservation fee of €2.00 per person and the payment (by credit card) will be collected at the reservation kiosk.

Schools

School groups are required to reserve timed-entrance tickets in advance, these tickets can be collected at the Colosseum, Arch of Titus or the Roman Forum. All school groups are required to enter the Colosseum via the Stern entrance.

European Union: schools from the EU must reserve a time slot and will receive free entrance tickets upon presentation of the official class list. This list must be printed on a school letterhead with the names of students and teachers along with the signature of the Headmaster.

Non-European Union: schools must reserve their tickets and pay in full at the time of reservation. A declaration of the school is required to ensure that the group is, in fact, from a legitimate school. Anyone under the age of 18 years old, with a valid identification card, will receive a free ticket. Anyone over the age of 18 years old, including teachers/chaperones, must reserve and pay for a standard ticket. Please note that you only need to reserve and pay for the number of participants over the age of 18 years old with a maximum 50 participants in total. Make sure to check the age of each participant at the time the tickets will be used and NOT the age when the tickets are purchased!
